What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is created as part of a study project, which is created within a limited period of time. The end of this period also sets the release date. Since it is not possible to implement the game to the desired extent by this time, the core gameplay will be available and all further content will be added afterwards. A positive side effect is that the game can develop with the feedback of the players and their wishes and suggestions are incorporated in updates.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This can not be said at the moment, as it depends heavily on how many additional features are stimulated by the community. We plan with three to six months. But the whole thing can take longer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“All features that are implemented to release the Early Access version in the game should work correctly, even if it means that other features will be added step by step. For this we have created a priority list, which looks roughly like this:

1. All functions of the laboratory should work and new substances can be created
2. The marketplace for the purchase of basic materials with dynamic price changes
3. Tile based map of your own neighborhood where substances can be dealt
4. Tile based hideout place, which can be furnished with furniture and objects
5. NPC's that move in hiding places and can automatically mix substances
6. Tech Tree which enables research into new devices and NPC functions
7. Other bosses who attack your neighborhood, but you can attack their neighborhoods too

Points 1 to 3 will definitely be available at the release of the Early Access version. All unimplemented features will follow step by step in updates until the full version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Major Roadmap:

1. [Implemented] All functions of the laboratory should be able to work and create new substances
2. [Implemented] The marketplace for buying commodities with dynamic price changes
3. [Not Implemented] Tile based map of your own neighborhood in which to trade
4. [Implemented] Tile-based hideout place that can be set up with furniture and objects
5. [Not Implemented] NPCs that can hide in hideout and automatically mix substances
6. [Not Implemented] Tech Tree which allows exploration of new devices and NPC functions
7. [Not Implemented] Other bosses who attack your neighborhood, but you can attack their neighborhoods too”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will be raised slightly once the game is completed. Currently we have not made a plan for this.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will respond to any community feedback and hope for active discussions. Feedback and suggestions for features can be given in the following ways:

- Steam CommunityHub Page of "The Pusher"
- Developer site on Steam
- Developer page on Facebook
- Developer page on Twitter
- Developer channel on Discord
- Feedback questionnaire (Ingame)”

About This Game

In "The Pusher" the player has to mix different chemicals and raw materials to... let's say interesting new substances and sell them to the consumers on the street. Do customers love your product because of the beautiful things they see when they take it or do they need it, even if it has a bad effect on them? Start as a small hobby chemist and work your way up. So you have to do everything yourself in the beginning, like get your basic materials, produce your goods and sell them on the street. Later, you can hire workers, who can do these things and switch from small back rooms to big styles. Oh yes and then there is the matter of the law ...

Features:

- Mix new substances from more than 30 chemical ingredients
- Start as a small street dealer in a rundown camper
- Work your way up, buy new hiding places, hire dealers, lab technicians and other "employees"
- Defend your territory or expand it with force and power
- Buy chemical ingredients and keep an eye on the market to make a profit

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

In "The Pusher", the player has to mix and sell fictitious substances from real ingredients. It is the purchase of raw materials, the correct mixing and selling in the foreground. Thus, the game refers to the subject of "drugs", but does not illustrate any negative aspects of these, such as addictions or physical decline. The representation of weapons and their use is indeed present, but limited to a minimum of violence, such as excessive representation of blood.
